Crush County Proudly Presents Our Local
Ventura County Country Western Dance Choreographers

We're Proud of Them and Enjoy Their Dances.

James "J.P." Potter

JP started Country Western line dancing just before his tenth birthday and has been country ever since. It wasn't long after that he started playing music for us and developed into both a dance instructor and country western music DJ.

JP and Pat both started out at Stuart Anderson's in Ventura with David Graves when Jim was working late a lot and all of a sudden both of them were hooked on country line dancing. Jim tried it after awhile and found out it was a lot of fun so now the whole family is involved. JP is the "natural" country dancer and Jim and Pat struggle to learn each new dance.

JP decided early on that he wanted to try new line dance choreography and after the first couple he decided to enter his line dances in competitions at CWDI sponsored dance events. Several of his dances have placed in the new line dance choreography competitions. JP usually likes his choreographed dances to be a little challenging but once you get them down they are fun.  Recently, JP has choreographed several new dances that seem to be popular and are being taught in other places as well as Ventura. His most popular new ones are "Crush" "Feel The Rhythm" and "Bye Bye Bye".

JP teaches and DJ's on Monday nights to a group of dancers that enjoy learning and dancing the newest dances to come out. They are usually intermediate to advanced level dances but he is always eager and willing to help new or beginning dancers get up to speed.

JP also teaches and DJ's on occasion for Vince at the Friday Night Red Hot Kickin' Country Dance Club dances. JP was a member of the Red Hot Kickin' Country Dance Club Demo Team but being a college student now takes up more of his time so he had to give up the demo team for the time being..
